Bringing Stakeholders to the Table in Yates County to Discuss Systems of Care
On Friday, January 17th, members of the NYS Success Implementation Team (including Tricia Snyder, Training & TA Manager; Lenora Reid-Rose, Cultural & Lingustic Competence Consultant; Daphnne Brown, Family Consultant; Jessica Hollins, Western Region YOUTH POWER! Representative; and Stephanie Garvia, Social Marketing & Communications Specialist) met with a group of Yates County stakeholders to explain Systems of Care and give a general overview of the support provided to counties within the NYS Success Network.
The Yates group was a truly collaborative one, with representatives from SPOA, the Finger Lakes Parent Network, Penn Yan Public Library, Kinship Care, DSS, Center for Dispute Settlement, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Youth Bureau, Citizens’ Coalition for Children, Child and Family Resources, Drug Court, and ProAction, as well as several local parent and youth advisors.
The Yates County group is a great example of a local community that has been able to maintain their Tier II Committee with broad representation. Not only have they been able to sustain this group, which was formed as a result of the old CCSI Initiative, but they are continuing to to utilize it for monthly meetings. This is an excellent next step in implementing the system of care philosophy throughout their county.
